The First Offenders Program is 4-hours of structured substance addiction education that meets standards for alternative sentencing programs.
Educational goals for this program include increasing individual understandings of addiction and personal use patterns, knowledge of relapse and recidivism, restructuring cognitive and behavioral patterns, and creating a personal plan to recovery support and identify personal risks associated with substance use relapse.
Patients are also provided resources for community-based recovery programs and self-help meetings for continued support. Upon successfully completion, verification is sent to the participants referral source.
